As Commercial Manager for Denmark, you will be leading a team of 13. You will report to the Managing Director, Decorative Paints Nordics, who works from the office in Malmö, which you will be affiliated to as well. You will work partly from home/in the market and partly in that office.

The job
As our new Commercial Manger, you will be a member of our Nordic Leadership Team and have the commercial responsibility for the Danish business. You will play a vital role in developing and implementing existing and new commercial activities, from Key Account Management to developing new business opportunities. Also,
  • Lead the creation of the commercial plans strategies and actions needed to surpass profitability and sales targets for the Danish market
  • Team and organizational leadership - motivation, team capability and create a winning together culture for the Danish team.
  • Lead development of strategy, competitive capabilities, and profitability of the Nordic large-scale outlet segment.
  • Close the commercial contracts needed for achieving our plans, together with your teams
  • Represent AkzoNobel’s interest as board member of the Danish trade association for paint companies (Danmarks Farve- og Limindustri)
  • Drive transformational change and improvements across teams and commercial activities

The profile
As a person you have business and key financial understanding and a strong result orientation drive. You can keep business focus while driving multiple projects simultaneously. You have exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

As to qualifications we look for
  • Experience from leading country/regional Sales or Commercial function (P&L ownership) and capability to develop new commercial capabilities
  • Proven capability of developing sales teams
  • Strong financial, strategic, and organizational acumen
  • Has potential to grow to bigger commercial responsibilities (AkzoNobel global development program)
  • Fluent in a Nordic language, preferably Danish. If not Danish, willingness to learn it to an acceptable commercial level. Good business level in spoken and written English
  • University Education with bachelor’s degree. Your potential and experience are more important than your education
