Administrative Assistant for EU agency
About the Workplace
You will be working at the European Environment Agency (EEA), an EU agency whose mission is to provide independent information and data on the environment and climate to support Europe’s environmental policies and long-term sustainability goals.
- The EEA consists of 32 member countries and 6 cooperating countries, working closely with the Eionet network.
- The agency is headquartered in Copenhagen.
- EEA informs policymakers and the public through reports, indicators, and assessments on the state of Europe’s environment.
About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Agency’s Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring efficient handling of data protection related activities, documentation, coordination, and compliance processes. The successful candidate will assist with a range of administrative tasks that contribute to the effective implementation and monitoring of the Agency’s data protection framework. This is a temporary position running until 03-01-2027, with the possibility of extension based on organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Taks may include e.g. some of the following:
- Support in updating internal policies and rules, process documents, etc.
- Administering the DPO functional mailbox
- Assistance with preparation of material for internal trainings
- Organising and maintaining an appropriate filing system for data protection files and correspondence
- Assistance with supporting data controllers in ensuring compliance with EUDPR for data processing already in place as well as advising on privacy-by-design and by default for new processing operations.
- Supporting data controllers in ensuring data subjects are fully informed of their rights, for instance through reviewing privacy statements.
- Communication tasks in relation to internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
Education
- Completion of an advanced level of secondary education
Work Experience
- Previous experience in administrative roles or related fields is an advantage.
- Computer Skills
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Language Skills
- Very good command of written and spoken English.
