HSE Advisor (Contract)
📍 Site-based in Esbjerg | Part-time | 6-month contract
We are currently looking for an experienced HSE Advisor (Contractor) to support product testing and operational activities within a technically complex offshore environment.
This is a part-time contract role (approx. 40 hours per month) primarily based on-site in Esbjerg at construction yards and testing facilities.
The Role
You will ensure that appropriate HSE controls are implemented and followed during testing and related operational activities. The role requires a confident and proactive HSE professional who can constructively challenge project teams and promote strong safety standards across contractors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
-Ensure HSE procedures, processes and systems are followed during product testing (FAT/SIT)
-Provide input to work scopes and execution plans, including risk mitigation strategies
-Intervene when identifying unsafe behaviours or hazards
-Lead safety inductions, Toolbox Talks and Safe Job Analyses
-Support and potentially lead supplier HSE audits
-Ensure safe working practices in compliance with legislation
-Record incidents, inspections and produce HSE reports and statistics
-Enforce PPE compliance
-Support development of emergency response plans
-Produce guidelines and procedures for future testing activities
-Liaise with suppliers, contractors and local authorities
The role includes close collaboration with project teams, suppliers and external stakeholders.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with:
-Minimum 5 years’ experience in an HSE role within construction, offshore, maritime or renewable energy
-Recognised HSE qualification (NEBOSH or equivalent)
-Experience leading Toolbox Talks and Safe Job Analyses
-Strong understanding of risk management and site-based safety controls
-Professional English skills (written and spoken)
It is an advantage if you have:
-Experience with FAT/SIT testing environments
-Knowledge of offshore electrical safety (e.g. LOTO, WTSR)
-Internal audit qualifications (ISO 9001, 45001, 14001)
-Danish and English language skills
Practical Information
-Location: Primarily site-based in Esbjerg
-Travel: Possible travel to Copenhagen for onboarding and occasional travel to UK/Germany
-Working hours: Approx. 40 hours per month/One week per month (flexible scheduling)
-Contract duration: 6 months with strong possibility of extension
-Start: ASAP
