Join Duferco Danish Steel as a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist, where your expertise will play an important role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
As an HSE Specialist, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement safety policies and procedures, conduct training sessions, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Your Role
As an integral member of our team at Duferco Danish Steel, your role as a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist will be multifaceted and crucial to fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
You will ensure the development, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies and programs. Utilizing your investigative skills, you'll analyze and prevent accidents, incidents, and complaints, recommending proactive measures to prevent recurrence.
You will also conduct thorough risk assessments and devising actionable plans to mitigate potential hazards. Additionally, you'll oversee emergency response protocols, coordinate fire prevention initiatives, and ensure strict adherence to evolving regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the development, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies and programs.
- Utilize your investigative skills to analyze accidents, incidents, and complaints, recommending proactive measures to prevent their recurrence.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and devise actionable plans to mitigate potential hazards.
- Oversee emergency response protocols and coordinate fire prevention initiatives, ensuring the utmost preparedness.
- Evolve the regulatory frameworks and ensure strict adherence to all applicable standards.
- Lead the design and delivery of engaging safety training programs to empower employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a safe workplace environment.
- Prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory agencies, showcasing our commitment to safety and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and administer safety budgets, optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation to support ongoing health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
Requirements & Skillset:
- Relevant degree in safety, environmental engineering, or a related field, demonstrating your commitment to excellence in the HSE domain. Deep understanding of federal and state safety regulations
- Proven track record in industrial process safety and environmental management, environmental compliance and
- Strong team player with the ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Risk Management Proficiency: Analytical acumen to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, safeguarding our workforce and assets.
- Workplace Safety Advocacy: Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability, empowering employees to actively participate in injury prevention efforts.
