In KK Wind solutions A/S we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Specialist to join the Converter Engineering department to be part of an exciting growth journey.

Job description
You will be an important part of defining and executing development projects and ensuring customer and quality requirements are met, while having a mindset in serial production and finding the most cost effective solutions.
With the strong technical background and years of experience you will also have a key role in building and maintaining customer relationship together with the Key Account Manager (KAM). You will be the person taking the technical talks with the customer and ensuring the correct technical content of the quotations, specifications and technical deliveries.

One thing is for sure – you will get a highly versatile role. You will be the go-to person and given high responsibility.
More specifically, you key responsibilities are:
  • Take the technical lead on mechanical structures ranging from a few kilos to several tons;
  • Defining and executing development projects;
  • Participate in customer meetings as the technical mechanical specialist e.g to clarify and challenge customers’ needs, but also pitching and presentation of new products and ideas;
  • Support- the KAM to ensure the correct technical content and budget hours in quotations and technical specifications;
  • Participate in reviews and approve technical work packages and deliveries;
  • Making S-FMEA for new designs;
  • Defining structural testing campaigns for new designs;
  • Ensure our products are in compliance with relevant standards;
  • Use your extensive knowledge bank to creatively come up with simple solutions to complex problems;
  • Have an eye on “state of the art” technologies which could have a benefit for the company and products;
  • Supporting the Technical Project Managers with technical expertise and knowledge.

We are looking for:
  • MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar with experience in manufacturing industry with knowledge in design and development;
  • Proven experiences with static and dynamic design of mechanical structures in various materials like steel, copper and aluminum;
  • Profound knowledge about mechanical converter design;
  • Proven experiences with Design for Manufacturing(DFM) to a serial production;
  • Knowledge of steel construction industry norms such as EN1993 (Eurocode 3);
  • Knowledge about ISO 14638 for Geometrical product specification(GPS) and how to define/calculate product tolerances;
  • Knowledge about materials within Polycarbonate;
  • Knowledge about packing materials like special pallets, aluminum foils and tarpaulins;
  • Have knowledge within FEM to interpreted and discuss calculation results;
  • Have knowledge about defining and performing structural life time testing;
  • Knowledge about writing specifications for type testing and analyzing test results;
  • Experience with CAD & PLM software’s;
  • Experience with cooling systems for electro-mechanical systems is preferable;
  • Experience from the wind industry is preferable;
  • Customer oriented;
  • Financial understanding in electro-mechanical design;
  • Fluent in speaking and writing English.


Converter Engineering department
In the Converter Engineering department we are responsible for developing, validating and implement new design features together with our Global Technology Service. You will be part of a multicultural department with colleagues located in Denmark, Germany, Poland, India and China.
Besides development projects the Converter Engineering Department also execute cost out projects on existing products.
Our customers are the leading wind turbine manufactures of the world, and we do our utmost to deliver competitive products within green technology that fit our customers’ needs and exceed their expectations – every time.

Your location will be our office in Ikast or Hammel. 10-15 travel days per year should be expected.
